These are things I just want to clarify with everyone so we're all on the same page. 1) Anyone can create and post a legitimate tutorial in the tutorials pending section of this part of the forum. Requests or no requests you are still allowed to create a thread to share a tutorial as long as the tutorial does not already exist in the forum and it adds something to our tutorial database (aka no troll tutorials). If the need arises, we may implement a request system but as of now, this will be the policy we stand by. 2) This being said, it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you first post your mod on the "Show Off Your Pens" thread and receive people's comments, thoughts, and criticisms before releasing your tutorial. This will give you an understanding of what people like about your mod, what they don't like about it, and what you can improve. Improving your mod will only attract more people to ask you to release a tutorial and thus make your thread and mod more successful in the public eye. This will bolster your chances to have your tutorial moved to the "Approved Tutorials" section. Generally over 5-10 requests is enough to warrant a tutorial for a mod. 3) Tutorials are approved by the quality of the tutorial as well as the mod. The tutorial needs to involve pictures and text or a video and use iMatt's template (http://forum.upsb.info/showthread.php?t=83). In addition, users need to be able to understand the tutorial so please make sure that it is coherent and well organized. In terms of the mod, the mod will be judged based on originality/innovation, aesthetics, and public response. More information on the tutorial approval process can be found here: http://forum.upsb.info/showthread.php?t=82 but please note that some mods in tutorials pending that deserve to be moved up have not been approved yet. This will be fixed soon as either Froggy and myself will be planning to evaluate mods at a later date. 4) Going back to the first point, making a post on a tutorial only to ask if the tutorial was requested does not add anything to the discussion of the mod. These posts are considered spam and will be deleted and infractions may be given out. Furthermore, flaming will not be tolerated. Criticism is okay even if it is negative but there is a line between very harsh criticism and outright flame. Please be respectful to each other. If you have any questions feel free to PM me or Froggy.
