Do I have to pay taxes when I buy one? Or when I use etc? Thank you. Thoughts? Have you used one before?

I use it all the time. The taxes only apply to the activation fee to use it. That amount depends on the amount the prepaid card is that you are buying, the higher the amount, the higher the activation fee. In order to use it online, you must register it at the specific card company's website. It is a decent way to get quick online funds or backup funds if you ran out of cash, since it is universal and requires no billing, it might be better for people that make small purchases with credit cards, because you don't have to owe money back and pay interest. However, the card can not be refunded and is limited to the amount inside. Big purchases are not ideal for these. Also the more you buy the more money you spend on the activation fee which can be used to towards something else. Hoped this helped. :D -

the tax is only applied to the activation fee. For example you are buying a 200 dollar gift card Activation fee is 10 dollars and let say your regions tax was 10%. 10% of 10 dollars is 1 dollar. So what you would be paying is 211. -

I work with these. You won't find an activation fee over $5.95. There are four types of visa gift cards: $25 $50 $100 $20-500. The fees are as follows: $25 - $3.95 $50 - $4.95 $100 - $5.95 $20-500 - $5.95 So basically if you buy a $25 gift card, you'll pay $28.95. The mastercard gift cards work exactly the same as the visa does. They are a much safer way to pay online. I recommend it. :) -

yeah i've bought several of those cards before, but i find that it's only worth to but the $50-$100+ cards since the activation fee is pretty expensive the $500 card is the gift card where you can put anywhere from $20-$500 into a card which is obviously the better choice if you want to put over $100 on a card they don't work for international purchases just so you know

uhhhh why do people get these? just get a debit card or a re-loadable free card online somewhere. If anything get the ones you can reload so you can avoid fees in the future but debit card and credit card are free....offer rewards...and have superior consumer protection... there is no reason at all to buy these in all actuality

+1 PenwisH Debit cards, especially, are great because they prevent you from spending more than you need to.
