Just watched the opening ceremony, pretty underwhelming... I skipped most of the flag ceremony because it was just so long / boring. And after the woman narrator announced The Democratic People's Republic of Korea, and mentioned completely seriously about Kim Jung Il's golfing "skill" I skipped to the end, which was just as underwhelming. North Korea is doing really well, there wasn't much coverage of the games in Taiwan, but I watched a whole lot of women's billiards pro 9 ball, and tbh that was more entertaining than a lot of the crap / stories NBC constantly milks. Commercials every 30 seconds does get kind of annoying. On the other hand there are a lot of nipples this year, it's actually really distracting when every single Women's competition it looks like they've been standing in a freezer for an hour. As for the TPE Chinese Taipei Republic of China stuff, it really doesn't bother me, and it shouldn't bother you, unless your family are Chinese defectors or s/t then I can understand.

Underwhelming? The olympic rings forging was one of the most imagnitive ideas I've seen, while the rural britain scene was not too promising, then the music and of course rowan atkinson made for a good show. And you'd have to be crazy to believe that they were saying that about kim jong il because it was true, they were joking when they included it in, but it was said seriously so they wouldn't offend the koreans. China did better, but aside from china, this was one of the best olympic openings out there, china did better than EVERYONE, you mind. As for the flags, they happen every time, they're an essential part of the proceedure.

Thanks I didn't realize how great the ceremony was and that they always have snarky sarcastic presenters. (see what I did there?). I loved their commentary about the music, oh wait I didn't because they kept throwing down passive aggressive banter, and I really loved the flag ceremony, oh wait just kidding, didn't I already say I didn't? Also, I didn't realize they had to do the flag thing every time, that's dumb, it takes up so much time. (Sarcasm again) Contrary to what you thought of the ceremony, I , as I previously stated, found it to be a jumbled mess of cringing, well, I'm not even sure. It felt tacky. The music was strung together in a really stomach churning way, if you think Mr.Bean made the show that kind of proves my point. If they were "joking" as you say about kim jung il that's another example of the annoying woman, I swear by 2 hours I just wanted to stop. All in all it seemed a bit too much interpretive dance / mash up done by a 10 year old. I'm not saying I didn't enjoy any of it, and I'm not comparing it to China, but I personally wanted to stop watching it. If you cut it down to all the substantial parts of the ceremony, and then tacked on the flag ceremony I would've watched it, then again it would've only been about an hour long, "you mind".

Whole of fb is rooting for LCW in badminton, since he's a national hero. I have nothing against that man, just respect. And for some unknown reason if Lee Chong Wei wins the whole country is getting free Baskin Robbins ice cream or something. Bitch please, I'm going to watch me gymnastics. nothing personal, its just that USA is the closest to China in overall medals and gold medal rankings. anytime USA does not win a medal, its a win for china. if Russia was closest competitor, then i would root against Russia, but they've fallen off the radar in recent olympics.

Oh well, Today marks the end of the epic rivalry in the sport of Badminton, Men's Singles. Malaysia's Dato' Lee Chong Wei v.s. China's Lin Dan , The two titans of the sport. Both in their last Olympics, One defending his title, and aiming to be the first shuttler to successfully defend his title since the start of badminton in the Olympics, one to bring down the reigning Champ, and take home his country's First ever gold medal. Naturally, i will be supporting our national hero =D

I really, really don't care about other sports, but Lee Chong Wei is admirable. I only saw like part of the first round. And some fuckers on fb are cursing him, asking him to eat shit because his loss meant the loss of a potential public holiday. And yet others are already making memes on LinDan's topless pic. Where the fuck is sportsmanship nowadays. But I wouldn't expect much from this place anyway.

uh it's like saying the strikeout that won the game, or the hand that won the poker tournament, meaning it's the last thing that they had to do to win, she could have fell on her face (like in individuals) and they might have lost
