I want to know the chance of actually becoming a pen spinner. I read today that of all pen spinners, only 6% and less are actually girls.

The chance of becoming a penspinner, it's a high chance of someone becoming a spinner if the person watches videos of pen spinning. It inspires them in a way that will want them to become a spinner. But it's a 60% that a person would want to become one, because they might not have the patients to learn the basics.

so lets say if the chance of watching a pen spinning video is about 1/20(.05). And you are saying it's 60% chance they will be one. .05 x .6= 0.03 wow we are very rare only 3% chance someone will become a pen spinner

are you looking for in general or sexuality ratio of penspinners..

Lol this isn't really something you can calculate on a worldwide scale realistically...

There are 805 people on UPSB that are not New Members, so you know that they are active. I am almost positive that UPSB has the most members. So this is only for english speaking countries. The average person sees 8-9 thousand commercials a year. I have only seen one that has pen spinning in the past year and that was a voltswagon commercial with Kam's hand spinning on another guy's hand. I have probably seen that 5-10 times. From what I know this commercial was only shown in USA, and about half of UPSB's members are from USA. There are quit a few semi-active pen spinners in my area, but the only one to have an account on UPSB is MassiveInvader, so that means my formula isn't that accurate. @PSer130 said that you have a 60% chance of learning more than the fundamentals. .6(0.05(805/2)=the probability of being a devoted pen spinner in USA So you have a 12.075% chance of being a pen spinner assuming I am exact enough.:hmm:

True, and there are even FEWER spinners that are actually good. So they chances of actually becoming "pro" are even smaller

dont worry just spin u will get there
-
Date: Mon, Jul 23 2012 19:54:03
im saying 60% chance they might like it and do it
-
Date: Mon, Jul 23 2012 21:21:20
it's a mental thing, therefore to many factors to calculate it

This isn't some kind of virus you get, where woman have a lower infection rate. (did sound like it, lol) I guess there are different factors which improves the chance of actually starting to spin, like gaming, watching anime, being male (lol), being interested in other similar hobbies, etc. (or at least they increase the chance that you'll find a video about pen spinning since you have to decide for yourself wheter you want to start or not) But well... there is no data available for it.

Just STFU and spin your damn pen. Too complicated.

I occasionally see people at uni doing Thumbarounds and other tricks.

Chance is not involved, and statistics cannot reasonably be calculated.

True, the community is very small still

who gives a shit?
-

being a pen spinner isn't something that happens by chance, it happens from lots of practice and filming videos
-

I like pen spinning! =D

Statistics are just data in beautiful form.

just shut up and spin

This is quite possibly the most retarded post I've seen in the PS Related section so far. You either learn tricks or you don't. There's no innate probability of becoming a pen spinner.

this is not exactly something you can calculate, the figures here don't mean a thing. you can't calculate what's in a person's mind.

i think people said in the comments a rsvp mx -

@ilovebalisongs that makes sense because it was Kam spinning. When you said that I looked close and checked if you were right. But I think that it was a RSVP V2 because if you look close enough you can see just the back plug in the cap, no grip. If you can't see that then look at all the times the center balance is used as COP. Pause at 0.55 and you can see that there is no grip in the cap.

seriously, how do you all know the exact percentage? oh,and u wanna know the percentage?it depends on the person's mind, wif perseverance,it's high, with no perseverance,it's low,so,what type of spinner are you?you won't know until you've gone up... -

The amount of people in this thread that read the title and not the actual post amuses me. THE OP IS NOT asking what the percentage is that he will become decent and considered a pen spinner, not just a thumbaround/charger and just quit. He's vaguely asking what the chance that a person born randomly with learn to spin pens.

(number of users registered to penspinning boards / world population count) x 100? Frog~

I think this problem can be calculated. It can be answered by statistics. Maybe ask someone who is an expert in statistics, do some experiment (survey) and research.

Just spin and don't care
-
Date: Mon, Jul 30 2012 10:35:03
lol...take the number of penspinners in the world over the population of the world times 100.the percentage should be like a 1% or less...maybe...jus my guess.
