SuperBIC Mod This is a poor tutorial because I had quite the lackluster selection of materials aaaaand no money to buy new ones... so hopefully you guys get the idea and still enjoy the tutorial :)

[Stats]: Length: 21.3cm Weight: unweighed Ink: N/A Style: Double Sided, Nonretractable Difficulty: Easy~Medium [Materials]: [3x]: Supertip Bodies [2x]: BIC Round Stic Grip pens [2x]: Signo tips [4x]: random black grip sections (I used rsvp/gripmatic/hgg etc.) [2x]: Air Blanc grips (or anything else for the sake of keeping all the materials American) [Tutorial}: [1]: Gather Materials. REDBOX: replace these with other american grips if you do not have access to pens from other countries [2]: Cut the tip off of one of the Supertip bodies and sand the inside to make a cavity the same diameter of the BIC Stic body. [3]: Push the grips from the Bic Round Stic Grips into the backs of the 2 other Supertip bodies. [4]: Cut off the backs of the Supertip bodies and sand to the base of the BIC Stic grips. [5]: Wrap tape (to stabilize the body) around the BIC Stic body and push into the uncut Supertip body. [6]: Cut off the BIC Stic body so it is now the same length as the front of the supertip. [7]: Apply the grip sections (usually rsvp) to the ends of the Supertip body. [8]: Put the bodies/grip combo's onto the BIC pieces. CONTINUED ON POST BELOW:

[9]: Put the BIC/Supertip body combos into the ends of the Supertip body. [10]: Wrap teflon tape around the tip of the BIC piece. [11]: Screw on the Signo tips then add teflon behind them to create a flat surface mirroring that of the tip. [12]: Apply the other black grips to the fronts of the mod (usually RSVP RT grips). [13]: Push on the Air Blanc grips (or whatever other grips you choose) and congratulations, you have made the SuperBIC Mod!!!

how do you sand the insides ofthe supertip barrel?
-
Date: Fri, Aug 6 2010 05:54:05
i have a small circular file that i would die if i lost it but wrapping sand paper around a large nail should work too
-
Date: Fri, Aug 6 2010 05:55:53
lol yeah i wanted to make them the same length, but i kinda messed up and i really did not want to start all over again ! lol but i like it .... thanks btw great mod love spinning it !

Hippo2626 wrote: how do you sand the insides ofthe supertip barrel?
i used a file that was round.. it worked great ! you can get them at any hard ware store -
Date: Fri, Aug 6 2010 06:29:18
how long do you have to cut the other 2 supertip barrels?
-
Date: Fri, Aug 6 2010 07:34:44
you put the bic grips in there first and then cut so they are the same length as the grips... no need to measure
-

Can I ask why picture number 7 has a comssa backplug? Plus, does it make a difference?

Colin wrote: Can I ask why picture number 7 has a comssa backplug? Plus, does it make a difference?
I think its just the shortened front nub of the supertip. Does look like a back plug though -

-
Date: Sun, Sep 5 2010 02:03:45
Will the mod still look good even without the air blanc grips?
-
Date: Sun, Sep 5 2010 02:30:35
You can try gspec and I think it should work fine. Unless you mean making it without any grips over the mod besides those black ones. It's your personal opinion

Would it be possible to make this with 2 SuperTips, instead of 3?
-

Username wrote: Would it be possible to make this with 2 SuperTips, instead of 3?
itd be hard to get the bic grip thingy into a portion of a supertip other than the very back, but go ahead and try -
Date: Wed, Nov 10 2010 02:30:53
I think it could work if you file down the bumps on the inside of the barrel.
-
Date: Wed, Nov 10 2010 03:14:51
Looks really good, definitely going to have to make one of these if I end up buying a pack of supertips some time
-
Date: Fri, Nov 19 2010 05:11:45
Would Airfit grip work for this?
-
Date: Fri, Nov 19 2010 05:36:30
@justink1025 It's gonna be pretty hard to stretch em over the st barrels and i think the slimmer airblanc grips will look nicer
-
Date: Fri, Nov 19 2010 05:51:07
Ahh... Thanks alot.. Too bad those airblanc cost 3 dollars apiece :( I was hopping airfit would work since they are much cheaper :(
-
Date: Fri, Nov 19 2010 07:13:30
I mean they "could" work but you'd be putting a lot more effort into the mod than if you did it the other way
-

-

I dont have sandpaper or a circular file... Would it be okay to cut off the entire front tip and base of it, and replace with the bic barrel like the back part of the ST?
-
Date: Wed, Dec 15 2010 00:00:07
It'll probably be kind of unstable but instead of sandpaper or a file, use scissors. Just stick one blade into the hole you want to shave out and twist the barrel so the blade scrapes against the side and starts to smoothen it out
-
Date: Sat, Dec 18 2010 18:54:55
By using profile grips, would it be okay to cut the profile grips so they only cover the white part on the ends, while still showing the back grip?
-
Date: Sat, Dec 18 2010 19:02:43
you can do whatever you want
-
Date: Sat, Dec 18 2010 19:05:01
I made one, but the signo tips aren't stable. Any tips?
-
Date: Mon, Dec 20 2010 01:53:26
I tried making this, the only problem is the sanding part. I have needle files that I used but it's extremely time-consuming. It makes your hands incredibly sore after as well. It's a great spinning mod, that's as if you have a lot of time on your hands to actually file down the Super-Tip bodies to the diameter of the BIC Round Stic. It's a pain in the ass unfortunately. There were many times where I cracked the Super-Tip bodies and had to repeat the whole process over again for the ends.
-
Date: Mon, Dec 20 2010 01:55:27
More teflon tape should fix that problem. Or what you could do is apply a little bit of super-glue, that way the tips will always stay there. If you plan on removing the tips for other mods, do not use super-glue.

is it okay to use HGG tips instead of Signo?
-
Date: Tue, Dec 21 2010 07:51:27
Hgg tips are too small
-
Date: Tue, Dec 21 2010 08:57:30
this mod look great! i'll try to make one later. Where can you find the air blanc grips? are there any subs for those grips?
-

Gonna make another one with blacksupertips @Jesus with the file did you do circular motion? Sanding the inside of the supertip is efficient if its in and out motion

NRG.Flow wrote: Gonna make another one with blacksupertips @Jesus with the file did you do circular motion? Sanding the inside of the supertip is efficient if its in and out motion
Yes I did. It took me a total of an hour and a half to file the superTIP bodies to the diameter of the BIC round stic. -

Jesus wrote: Yes I did. It took me a total of an hour and a half to file the superTIP bodies to the diameter of the BIC round stic.
It really shouldn't take that long. I used to scissors method inside of the body and it took me about 10-20 minutes until I could fit the round stic part in. -

how do you do number 2?
-
Date: Thu, Feb 16 2012 19:39:19
[2]: Cut the tip off of one of the Supertip bodies and sand the inside to make a cavity the same diameter of the BIC Stic body. Get a blade and cut off one of the ST bodies's tip. Then sand the inside so a BIC round stic body could fit. Frog~

Would this mod work with the new Supertips? They're all I have.. So far I am unable to push either the BIC bodies or its grips into the Supertip barrels. Would sanding/filing/scissor-ing the inside of the barrel work for new Supertips? Really wanna make this mod..
-
Date: Fri, Mar 23 2012 21:20:41
yes this works for new supertips ... i made mine with new supertips... takes a little bit longer to sand though. =\
-

nice mod.

Very nice, one of the few mods that of which all the parts are available in Toronto.
-
Date: Thu, Apr 26 2012 02:23:47
Is it really necessary that the interior of the supertip needs to be sanded down?
-
Date: Thu, Apr 26 2012 02:28:19
if you do not, and you force the bic in there, the supertip becomes stressed and the ridges on the inside that let the backplug snap into place bulge out. its a minor cosmetic thing, but something I usually dislike seeing.
-
Date: Thu, Apr 26 2012 02:34:56
But there is a short place where te backplug is supposed to go, and the bic stic fits perfectly in there, so couldn't you jut shorten the body?
-
Date: Thu, Apr 26 2012 02:43:36
and weaken the mod, causing it to be more prone to breaking if bent or sit on? go ahead :)
-
Date: Thu, Apr 26 2012 02:46:22
I just sanded down the ridges abit, stuck the bic stic in as far as it went without putting too much stress on the st body and cut the excess off.
-
Date: Thu, Apr 26 2012 02:58:09
Well, that works too :P

Can Hybrid Gel Roller tips work for this mod?
-
Date: Tue, May 1 2012 03:52:00
You could try.. but HGR tips are thinner than Signo tips (and also lighter too) Frog~

I started making one and hit a bump. i cannot figure out how to hollow out the super tip tip enough to allow the bic part to be inserted into it. Any suggestions?

Andrizzle wrote: I started making one and hit a bump. i cannot figure out how to hollow out the super tip tip enough to allow the bic part to be inserted into it. Any suggestions?
i used a very skinny circular file (always handy to have when modding). you could also wrap some sandpaper around a nail and use that instead. if none of that works, you could very carefully carve it out with an xacto knife, but you might not be able to do it nicely. -

You can't upload pictures to upsb directly from your computer. You need to upload your picture on photobucket or image shack and then use that link. Think of it this way, every one can see a picture online, but you can't show a picture that is on your computer to someone else via internet. Same with youtube videos. You can't see a video you have not uploaded. -

This mod looks really cool. But wouldn't the BIC round-stick inside the super tip barrel add more weight to the centre, increasing the drag when spinning?
-

AfroSquared wrote: This mod looks really cool. But wouldn't the BIC round-stick inside the super tip barrel add more weight to the centre, increasing the drag when spinning?
Yes, which would result in less momentum. The same thing occurs in VGG mod, where you need a bic round stic to connect the bodies. The shorter the round stic the more momentum. But i would suggest for this mod just follow it step by step. -
Date: Fri, Aug 1 2014 23:43:21
how do you know where the bic stic grips are without measuring? But I guess if you have x-ray vision...

This mod is great.
