This is for community registration. If you are a spinner looking to participate in a collab, contact your local forum organizers So here is more information about "spinfest", which is the international pen spinning festival. Each community will create a collab video (CV). Minimum length is 2 minutes. Maximum length is 5 minutes. We will create a release schedule: every community will release their collab at their assigned time. The festival will begin in mid-August 2012, and finish in end of November 2012. Right now, we are expecting to release 1 collab every week, but it's possible we will release 2 collabs per week. Community registration --> To register, please send an e-mail to "][email protected] and indicate your preferred time: --> Select 3 choices of weeks between August 13 to December 2nd. Sort your choice by preference: choice #1 is your most preferred, #3 is least preferred. Example: Community name: Choice #1: August 13-19 (13/8 - 19/8) (example week) Choice #2: Choice #3: We will try to accomodate every preference. Try to register early if you want to reserve a spot. Deadline for registration: August 12, 2012 ------------------ More information will be posted when the official website is open. Aside from the community releases, we will also accept user-submitted videos. Those videos will be reviewed and released between official collabs. Finally, the final collab of the festival will be an international collab with one spinner from each community. ------------------ Current calendar: https://www.google.com/calendar/embed?src=hei10mpkakuffbkcbff40khk3c%40group.calendar.google.com&ctz=America/Toronto

on the website there will be instructions for any spinner to send in videos (can be anything, solo, tag, collab, etc.). Those videos will be reviewed. In between community releases, we will post about the user-submitted videos.

Imo it's too much collabs over a much too long period of time. Seriously that's 3 1/2 months dishing out videos which is 14 ~28 collabs. I think if you do that much it's going to lose it's value as something special and will soon become uninteresting. I'd rather have 5~7 collabs in 2 months or 3~5 collabs in 1 month. It's still a lot and something spinners can look forward to, but not a ridiculous amount that will probably result in decreasing quality. imo it's the quality that makes most ,,events'' in the PS world interesting like JaPen collabs and WC/WT. Most of the time you'll see high quality videos there and not some randomly dished out stuff.

well every community is allowed to participate. who knows how many will. just because I wrote the range is from august to november doesn't mean it will actually be that long. the final schedule is not set yet. it wouldn't be possible to limit the number of collabs while making it a non-competitive event. the whole point of the thing is to make it not competitive to set it apart from other international events. also each community releases a single video, so its not like you're seeing the same spinners every time.

@Zombo probably wouldn't be a bad idea to have "alternate" videos for example some community signs up as an alternate, submits as soon as they can, and when (not if) some community is late/doesn't submit, you release the alternate instead. that way you can still release every week or whatever

yea i dont mind skipping a video once a while if it happens though. then if the postponed community gets their video ready, it becomes an alternate for the rest of the festival
