Sometimes you can. Sometimes you can't. Depends on the thread I suppose. You can see it in the bottom right corner of your post. -

At the bottom right of the post's signature, there is a green '+' button. Click it to like a post.

Because your "reputation" should be based on how much you contribute, not how many funny posts you've made in most replies

Ah. I wish there were a separate system where you could still like posts, but it wouldn't help their reputation. That would take a while to set up though, and there are probably more important things to do on this board.
