I'm pretty sure no one has done this before. I'm also sorry about the quality of the images, my camera is crap so let me off on that one. This is also different to TEK's method, as it gets rid of the paper completely, hence resulting in a smooth surface that has no bumps if you apply it right. It feels the same as a supertip barrel. I am applying this method to a SuperBIC variant. Anyway here goes.

That is what the mod will look like once this is done. Here's the actual TUT. 1)Print out the design on normal paper. YOU HAVE TO DO THIS WITH A LASER PRINTER, use as much toner as you can.
    Spoiler
    Spoiler
2)Take a piece of packaging tape, slightly larger than the design you are using.
    Spoiler
3)Stick the design FACE DOWN onto the packaging tape, be sure to do this on a flat surface so no bumps would occur.
    Spoiler
4)Trim off excess tape on the side.
    Spoiler
5)Apply water to the back of the paper, rub vigorously to remove all the paper from the tape, the design will remain on the tape.
    Spoiler
    Spoiler
6)Dry the tape (No photo, you can use a cloth or leave it to dry, i used a cloth, however debris may get under the tape, you decide what you want to do.) 7)Apply the tape to the pen by sticking it on and rolling the pen.
    Spoiler
NOTE : IF YOU DID IT RIGHT, THERE WILL BE NO BUMPS ON THE BARREL DUE TO THE TAPE. And there, you're done.

isn't it only work with powder ink printer? like the photocopy machine? i saw these on 9gag by the way for cheating in exam.

It only works with laser printers (which is power ink (A.K.A Toner))

hmmm are you using a special paper? i mean there's a lot papers kind. or it just a normal A4 paper?

  9. XProzX

Nope, it's normal paper, the toner would stick to the tape, therefore normal paper is fine, it's also easy to remove.

I must try this out, though I'm still skeptical of the feel of tape.

@XProzX, would the tape not stick so well seeing as how you put paper on it, then washed it off? Looks amazing but I'm worried that it wouldn't last long.

This looks really cool :) Gotta try it out soon although I am not really sure how the tape feels while spinning and how long it lasts... I guess I ll just find it out, glad to have a laser printer at home :D

Does it work with other colors instead of black only? Like... The "tribal 'being red/blue/gren/pink/yellow/etc.. Does it work?

@Supergirl i have a few mods with TEK style outserts, the feel is a little slippery. grippiness is between a comssa and an unpolished superpirat :D

This has been shown before on Speedsolving.com for cube logos. I'll get a link later. I think you can use a regular printer too, but only in black and white.

@Penz3160 it wont work with normal printers, the ink would dissolve in water and hence leave you with a blank piece of tape.

What if the entire Outsert is like, black, for example? Will the tape work?

@Epic Holiday It should still work, I tried it with an MX insert that has 95% of the area covered, it stuck on pretty well Btw the tape is pretty durable, i took it off and reapplied it about 5 times and it still stuck on well.

Also, if the tape ever gets screwed, who cares? it was 2 cents in materials anyways.
