The Backaround Fall and Backaround Rise are combos that involve the use of Backarounds and the use of Backaround Reverses, respectively. Technically speaking, a Backaround Fall would be broken down as: Backaround 12-23 > Backaround 23-34 > Backaround 34-T1 However, most people recognize the Backaround Fall as being: Fingerless Indexaround Reverse 12-12 > Pass 12-23 > Fingerless Middlearound Reverse 23-23 > Pass 23-34 > Fingerless Ringaround Reverse 34-34 > Fingerless Pinkyaround Reverse 34-34 Backaround Fall Video Tutorial by Pari Backaround Fall Video Tutorial by Xero Backaround Fall Video Tutorial by KTrinh93 --------- A Backaround Rise would be broken down as: Backaround 34-T1-23 > Backaround 23-T1-12 > Backaround 12-T1-12 A more prevalent interpretation of the "Backaround Rise" is: Fingerless Pinkyaround Reverse 34-34 > Pass Reverse 34-23 > Fingerless Ringaround Reverse 23-23 > Pass Reverse 23-12 > Fingerless Middlearound Reverse 12-12 > Pass Reverse 12-T1 > Fingerless Indexaround Reverse T1-T1 Backaround Rise Video Tutorial by Pari --------- UPSB Wiki entry

More information on what is happening when you try to link the two backarounds would be nice Try to let it spin around more. So if you catch it with your thumb, index, and middle (T12), let it spin that extra 0.5 rotation and catch it in index and middle (12) then do your middle backaround from there. Also I assume you do, but you should be able to do a mid backround first

I have a really weird double joint which gets in the way and doesn't allow my ring finger to straighten all the way it over bends pal inward at the second the bottom knuckle = \.

Try practicing Fingerpass Rev with your palm down. As far as I can see thats how you change slots so just work on getting that smooth.

I have not even started to practice backaround rise, until i just read through this thread. When i do my fingerless pinkyaround reverse. It feels like i am doing a devil's shadow 34-34. I don't know if that is alright. I'll try making it more into a fingerless motion.

@dastoks, you shouldn't even be learning how to a bakfall right now you are a very new penspinner and you should wait to learn this. And for you guys having trouble with the bakrise, you dont have to do all the passes as eso said that is just how it is commonly notated, you just have to practice the fl pinkybak rev, but then you dont have to pass34-23, you just simply do a ringbak rev from 34 as if your ring finger is pulling on the pen, somewhat like a ringaround, then you pass 34-23 or fl pass 34-23 if you can, then do midbak rev like a middlearound as if you are pulling the pen with your middle finger, then pass from 23-12 or fl pass 23-12 if you can, and do a normal bak rev, just like a bust.

I really need help on my pink baks, I can bakfall from everyfinger. then once I get to the pinky. I do like an aerial type of bak. Its weird.

For pinky bak, just have it in between your pinky and ring finger, with more of the pen on the side of your wrist. Then do a quick and kind of jerky motion with your wrist to do it.When I do it, my fingers mostly stay in the same position.

Practice ring bak by itself until it becomes more comfortable then try again. Ring bak is harder for some people then even pinky bak. Working on your fingerpass rev may help as well. If you are still having troubles work on your dexterity with some inv sonic 34-23, inv sonic rev 23-34, charge 24 and charge rev 24. This will build up your control of those lower slots, so whatever you end up doing with them will be a lot easier.

    So it's bust 4>pass rev> bust 3> pass rev> bust 2> pass rev > bust 1 right

Yeah, that's a common interpretation of it, and thats what the video shows. However it would technically be back around rev rise; the opposite motion of a bak fall. A "true" bak rise would be pinky bak 34-34>ring bak34-34>pass rev 34-23>mid bak 23-23> pass rev 23-12>bak 12-12; bak's performed in an ascending manner. This is harder to do. Don't get bogged down in what you are doing is called though, names don't matter, your performance of it does. There is some ambiguity when trick modifiers get applied to mini combos.

  25. KIRGO
    Date: Mon, Jul 25 2011 12:24:50

Yeah the problem is that "rise" and "fall" are not modifiers, and can only be applied to the first invented tricks, such as: sonic, pass, "rising fan", "falling fan" etc. I had a discussion about this with Zombo =S There are no "definitions" of what "rise" or "fall" are, but generally it works like this: Falling Fan = reverse [Rising Fan] Backfall = reverse [Backfall] as if Rising Fan or Backfall was a trick...

@Boberbojoe i got bakfall about a month after i did my first bak, theres no rush, jeez everyone is learning so fast these days O_O well just practice the consistency of your midbak > pass 23-34 > ringbak just get used to throwing that off, once that is VERY consistent, use the same technique to get ringbak > pinkybak Good luck!

uhm.. i had the same problem-> tried it for like 10 mins but couldnt do it->month later(trying it again).....did it.. i dont know if it will help you but i do the index and middle at the same speed(using their momentum for the ringbak) and the position of my fingers while doing ringbak copies my midbak. (hope it helps)

Practice ringbak separately and pinky Bak separately when you can get them consistently learn ringbak to pinky Bak an after all that long and very boring practice (believe me I had to learn this aswell...took ages ) you should have fixed your problem. You could also do finger exercises to make your ring and pinky fingers independent. (>_<)

My Pinky Finger is somehow connected to my Ring Finger. For example, when I bend my Pinky Finger, my Ring Finger will bend too. This is a problem to me as it is difficult to do Ring Bak > Pinky Bak. Any help?

Can you do ring bak and pinky bak seperately yet? If you haven't, learn those first, then try to practice them, then try putting them together

Yeah, I can, but only sometimes. I will say my Success Rate is around 70-75%. Most of my problems comes from the Ring Bak.

Keep practicing ring bak and pinky bak until you feel that they are good enough, then it would be easier to link them

Just try to move your pinky or your ring finger alone and not connected, it'll be easier for you to do backs then.

Is it just me, or bakfall is easier to do once you've learned it but harder to learn, but backrise is easier to learn but harder to execute? =="
