is it bad that I know what software these spammers are using? anyways, it is very hard to combat these spammers. they're most likely using multiple proxies, which makes it hard to IP ban. I suggest adding a "security" question, like "What does PS stand for?" question check.

also use akismet to block spammers another thing you can do is prevent new users to post links on their first post. we have all these features on UPSB. sometimes we get false positives, where a new user tries to post a link on the first post, well we just have to manually approve it.

range ban 1.718.* something like that depending on how many proxies they use.

people can buy multiple proxies with different b/c ip classes, making them nearly impossible to ban

That's the meaning of universal? It's not like the UPSB is only for North Americans, lol. This is a place where people from any community can be together, talk and so ._. Anonymouss...sorry but I can't help :/ SPSC gets a lot of spam bots too, that's why the registration system is manual :/

The thing is is that of you look at the screenshot. I took there are 2 posts by the same account. And still, you have all the dirty descriptions that aren't linked so the first post wild have that but every one thereafter wild have the links. I think more effective things would be a jumbled letter security check before end petering the main site, logging in, making an account, having lots of posts in a short period of time (YouTube does this with comments), and more. You can have moderators manually approve accounts, like an application proccess. Put a character limit on comments and threads Filter key words and phrases, and if the frequency of said words is too high, temp ban or permanent ban account. I know this would all be hard, especially the filters because I took that screenshot using google translate.
